VIA Surfboard NetNote Edition is the name of a new platform to create faster and better minicomputers. Mainly it seems to be the graphics that gets a kick upwards, and technology is thus a competitor to Nvidia Ion.
Mini Computers are notoriously not very good performance. With such low price tags has long been stamping with Intel Atom and Intel graphics chips. It has not given much room to watch movies and play special l – at least if you are looking for reasonably quality. But now starting to happen!

VIA has displayed its new Surfboard NetNote Edition , I read of IDG, which is a sequel to theSurfboard they released this spring. The platform is based on VIA’s media processorVX885. In addition it can choose between processors VIA C7 ULV or VIA Nano. Surfboard NetNote faces the mini-computers ( netbooks ) with screens at 10.2 to 12.1 inches. The resolution of the internal screen is 1366 × 768 pixels, and for external displays 1920 × 1440 pixels.
The platform can be equipped with HDMI port and then you can deliver full HD movie(1080p) to an external TV or monitor. There is also the option to upgrade to 3G modem and GPS. More on Surfboard NetNote, visit VIA’s website .
PCOnline have reported that several mini-computers with more powerful performance is on its way to the market. These use different graphics solutions, and other processors than Intel Atom. Nvidia ion solution is popular and can give as good graphics performance that you can run games on your mini computer.
