NanoTouch, the transparent touch screen Microsoft weblog
by admin on Dec.04, 2010, under laptop battery, notebook, software
Will be submitted to Computer and Human Interaction Conference to be held in Boston in April of next year’s prototype NanoTouch. The high-tech object is the son of the collaboration between Microsoft and the Institute of Potsdam Hasso Plattner. It is a device from the tiny screen of 2.4 inches, with a touchpad on the back of the same size.

The user’s finger to interact with the screen back in the front and you can have an unobstructed view of the encounter between fingertips and objects on the screen. When you touch the screen back is in fact the image behind the icons of a finger, was placed exactly where the real one and you have the feeling that the NanoTouch is transparent.
Tests have shown that this system appears to be more effective than the traditional one. Users can click on icons with a diagonal measurement of just 1.8 mm, while traditional systems must be at least twice the diagonal.
The NanoTouch will be proposed as a solution to those problems encountered in use when interacting with the devices with Touchscreeen on the front screen as the iPhone, iPod Touch, BlackBerry Strom.
The screens are in fact very small compared to the user’s fingers and the screen is often almost completely covered by the fingers or hand it intends to press a few buttons, making the often inaccurate use of certain features. An example for all the company’s almost impossible to type long texts with an iPhone. While we wait to see the object until the spring of next year, already has a video that shows the main features.

microsoft will invest in MySQL database

In a bid to woo customers from rival Microsoft Corp, Oracle Corp will boost investment in the widely used MySQL open-source database that it acquired with its January purchase of Sun Microsystems.
Already the world’s biggest player in the $19-billion-a-year Dell inspiron 1545 battery database market, Oracle believes that it can boost overall database sales by making MySQL more competitive with Microsoft’s SQL Server.
Edward Screven, Oracle’s chief corporate architect, said in an interview that the company will add new functions to the software and improve its performance.”We are increasing our investment in MySQL… on every front,” he said prior to unveiling Oracle’s strategy Dell latitude d610 battery for MySQL at a software conference in California on Tuesday.
The acquisition of MySQL gave Oracle an entry into other parts of the market, such as selling to small to mid-sized businesses and companies running websites.ITIC analyst Laura DiDio said that MySQL and SQL Server are fundamentally similar to Dell latitude d430 battery , but that the Oracle product is not as robust as the one from Microsoft.
The European Union delayed Oracle’s $7.5 billion purchase of Sun for months over concern that Oracle would slow development of MySQL in a bid to pressure its users to buy Oracle’s high-end inspiron b120 battery product.MySQL is an open-source program that is available at no cost. It generates revenue from subscriptions for upgrades, bug fixes and call center support as well as tools that companies use to manage the software.

Microsoft will change the open source
by admin on Mar.22, 2010, under Battery news, battery tips, laptop battery, notebook
The presentation by Microsoft’s Stuart McKee, who holds the title of national technology officer for the United States, continued a pattern in recent years that has seen Microsoft publicly embracing the open source movement and even funding it.
“Microsoft feels strongly that Microsoft’s success has been based on the fact that we can run a lot of diverse technologies on the Microsoft platform including open source,” McKee said. Microsoft has had a “contentious” relationship with open source proponents but “things are really changing,” he said.
Microsoft contributes to open source efforts, including sponsoring Linux, he said. Microsoft has contributed 20,000 lines of device driver code to the Linux kernel so Linux can run on Microsoft’s Hyper-V virtualization technology of Sony VGP-BPS9A battery , noted Robert Duffner, Microsoft director of open source strategy, who also was present at OSBC.
“To be quite honest, it’s not that we’re altruistic, necessarily. Our key desire is to satisfy customers. We build software for a living — that’ what we do,” McKee said. “And we understand profoundly that a diverse ecosystem is absolutely critical to satisfying the needs of customers and increasingly, that ecosystem does include open source.”
Microsoft in recent years has been endorsing open source via efforts such as sponsoring the Apache Foundation. The Microsoft-backed CodePlex Foundation, meanwhile, was set up last year as an effort to enable collaboration between open source communities and software companies of Sony VGP-BPS2C .Prior to McKee’s appearance, David Recordon, head of open source initiatives at Facebook, stressed the emphasis on open source software on the site.
“We rely on the Varnish project. Varnish is an incredible open source cache to sony vgp bps2c battery ,” Recordon said. Billions of requests are served through Varnish everyday around the world on Facebook, he said.To boost PHP performance on the site, Facebook developed an open source technology, HipHop for PHP, which transforms PHP code into highly optimized C++, said Recordon.
